Payment Policy
Tuition Overview
RAHA is a non-profit organization that relies on our member community to come together financially to pay the considerable expenses required to operate our program. To that end, it is imperative for our organization’s financial health to collect player tuition in an expeditious manner and reduce any risk associated with non-payment and/or delinquent payment of tuition fees. Tuition levels have been established by the Board of Directors of RAHA to ensure that the association covers all the costs associated with operating the program. Examples of costs associated with operating the program include, but are not limited to the following:
- League fees, practice ice, skill/goalie clinics, tournament fees, evaluations, equipment, uniforms, coaching education program (CEP), and administrative costs.
The RAHA tuition policy and team assignment process for the 2023-2024 hockey season is outlined below. Payments will be spread over a number of months to ease the tuition burden on our members. Tuition is required to be paid in full according to the tuition payment schedule detailed below. Players with outstanding balances will not be allowed to participate in any RAHA practices, games, or activities until their account is made current. If there are any questions regarding the policy or the balance on your account, please contact RAHA Treasurer, Mike Zarro @ mzarro@ridgefieldhockey.org.
Registration/Evaluations
All players must pay a non-refundable evaluation fee to RAHA prior to the first on-ice evaluation date for the following divisions: U8 (Mite), U10 (Squirt), U12 (Pee Wee), U14 (Bantam) and U16/U18 (Midget).
- $115 for Mite
- $150 for Goalies
- $210 for all other age levels
Outstanding Tuition Balances
NO player will be permitted to participate in any activities for the 2023-2024 season unless all tuition and/or fees from any previous seasons have been paid in full. There will be NO exceptions made to this policy.
Tuition Assistance
This program allows RAHA members to request a modified or deferred payment plan to the tuition policy. The RAHA Board of Directors realizes that on occasion financial difficulties do create issues for families. However, unless prior arrangements have been made for the payment of outstanding tuition balances, RAHA expects that payments for outstanding tuition balances be made on time and in full.
No Pay/No Play
In the event that any player has not paid their tuition in full or made arrangements for an alternate payment plan with the RAHA Treasurer by the above tuition payment due date(s), then that player will not be allowed to participate in RAHA activities (on-ice practices and/or games) until such time as the outstanding tuition payment has been made in full. Allowing a player to participate while in a delinquent status does not waive the right of RAHA to suspend a player from participating at a later time until such delinquency has been satisfied.
Refund Policy
No refund will be granted for any reason, including, but not limited to, players leaving RAHA to join another organization, whether hockey or not; to play for a high school team; and/or due to dissatisfaction and/or problems with coaches, teammates, ice officials, and/or leagues.
No refund will be made to a player who sits out all or a portion of the season, including but not limited to code of conduct violations or suspension by USA Hockey or any other hockey league affiliation.
No refund will be made to members for the USA Hockey registration fees.
No refund will be made to members for travel league try-out fees, regardless of whether or not a player accepts a position on the team.
Supplemental Payments
RAHA reserves the right to charge a supplemental fee once the season details are finalized although our goal is to have season tuition communicated and remain unchanged ahead of tryouts. Final full-season fees will be determined in the late summer or early fall, once ice rental contracts, referee expenses, roster sizes and tournament expenses are finalized.
Returned Checks:
Any checks returned by a member's bank for insufficient funds may result in a service charge. The RAHA Treasurer will contact the parent(s) of the player and inform them they are not allowed to participate in RAHA activities until the outstanding dues have been paid. The service fee must be paid as well as the NSF check before the player may return to the ice.
USA Hockey Registration:
Registration with USA Hockey is required to participate in the program. Visit www.usahockeyregistration.com and click on the register now link. This USA Hockey registration cost is nonrefundable. Once you have a USA Hockey number, please add it to your child’s profile on the RAHA website.
Players who do not have a current USA Hockey registration listed with RAHA will be removed from game rosters and not allowed to participate in games or tournaments.
